The Vagabond Club, Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Where to begin? I moved to Singapore 2 months ago and have been staying in hotels while waiting for my apartment. I first booked the vagabond for 5 days at the end of August and recently returned for 10 more days because I missed it so much! I have Bonvoy Titanianium status and stay in hotels quite often; what sets Vagabond apart is the stunning decor, excellent lounge perks and incredible staff. The hotel itself is practically a museum , from the golden trees to massive elephants, moving pictures and evaluator videos, the entire space is a site to see. You can actually arrange for an art tour with the front desk which I would highly recommend. I stayed in two different rooms. The one with a skylight and the one with patio access. They were both unique and interesting; the skylight room had very high ceilings that really amplified the space. Since COVID began many hotels worldwide have closed their lounges and discontinued member benefits, however this could not be any farther from the truth at Vagabond. While there is no physical “lounge” members can enjoy a free breakfast every morning, and free dinner & drinks every night from 5-7. The food was delicious, I rarely missed a meal and found the lounge to be a great place to do my computer work when I needed to mix up my scenery. Speaking of breakfast, many days I would have to leave for work at 530 in the morning, well before breakfast hours. However, the chef would prepare me yogurt with granola, fruit, juice and coffee for takeaway every morning- it was above and beyond what was required. The staff is truly what made this place so special. Always helpful,and courteous , it was their smiling ( under masks) faces that true my made my day. I left every interaction feeling happier than the moments before. Several of my friends and colleagues have heard me rave about my experience and have come for stays/ dinners of their own , they immediately felt the warmth as well. I am finally moving into my apartment but will be dearly missing my new friends at Vagabond.

All staffs are super kind and very professional, so friendly. They all remember guest’s face and name and plus they’re handsome and beautiful, and so strong that even lady staffs can carry your heavy luggage very well. And F&B staffs remember what guest wants and serve favorite food you like. Rooms are very clean and so unique. and Gym is available 7/24 just in front of hotel, Anytime fitness. But no swimming pool and there’s a really odd and crazy video in the elevator.

Firstly, an admission. We booked and stayed at the Vagabond Club during a strict lockdown so we were able to experience the full experience of the club/whiskey bar. What we were able to experience was a luxurious, unique hotel away from our daughter for a night in a locale we do not get to hang out very often. We loved our private balcony, cocktails and dinner and the indulgence away from family commitments. We can not wait to go back and experience the full sha-bang once restrictions are lifted!
